From Mr. David’s Desk
Summer at Torit is in full swing! With over 40 children from infants to 7-year-olds here with us, we’re filling days with fun summer memories. Children have visited the Esplanade splash pad, the Boston Common carousel, the New England Aquarium, and the Museum of Science. Some teachers are vacationing, while others have worked one or both summer sessions. Still others are pursuing Montessori certification or training educators in the Montessori method.
Welcome, new families! We are so excited to have you join us. You’ll find Torit’s community warm and welcoming, diverse and dynamic. There are numerous opportunities to get involved based on your schedule and interests.
It is now time to complete the forms in your Torit database. We ask that these be completed no later than August 14 so that they are available as our staff begins preparing for the new school year. For both new and returning families, please remember to sign up for one committee on the Volunteer Form as part of our Every Parent Plays a Part initiative.

Committees are listed below:
Admissions Ambassadors - act as hosts at two or more open houses and as contact resources for interested families
Grandfriends Day Committee - support staff efforts to make Torit shine on this day, where we honor our grandparents and mentors
Teacher Holiday Gift Committee - help organize peer solicitations for donations to celebrate our amazing teachers
Game Night Committee - a fun winter evening to come together and share some fun
International Potluck Dinner Committee - our winter feast; this event is often the biggest celebration of Torit all year
Spring Social Committee - a bash in support of scholarship funds
Teacher Appreciation Week Committee - May’s annual celebration of teachers with food and gifts; this is a way to thank the faculty for their hard work
Class Parents - attend Monthly Coffees with Mr. David and serve as a team captain for the formal and informal activities of families in your child’s room

New Neighbors, Doors, Phones
We now share the building with Alpha School Boston, who took up residence in the 4th floor. They will be dropping off in the morning at approximately the same time. Expect delays on the elevator. Stairwell doors will remain closed and locked for safety reasons. The elevator will be locked down at 9:00 AM daily until dismissal at 2:45 PM.
The Butterfly door camera has several Torit numbers listed in its directory. Please note that if you are picking up after 2:45 PM dismissal, you should select the Extended Day listing. That teacher can see and hear you and will let you in. Remember, please never let anyone in the door behind you whom you do not personally know, “even if they look like a parent.”
Much more will be shared in curriculum sessions and parent coffees or any time you ask. We hope you’ll always feel like Torit is responsive to your queries. In turn, we appreciate your enthusiasm and your efforts to spread the word about the excellent work of Torit’s educators and staff.
Classroom rosters and teacher assignments, schedules, and the 2026-2027 Parent Handbook will be shared on or before August 20. Calendar and schedule highlights are attached below.
