Torit Opens Doors for Its Graduates

I think we all take for granted the benefits of Torit... We assume that all schools at this [Elementary] level are doing what Torit is doing and they are not. We have friends at all sorts of private schools and they are floored when they hear about how rich the curriculum at Torit is...

Parent Voices

In Winter 2021, parents of the 6th grade graduating class presented (alongside their students) to a large virtual audience of PreK and K parents. The 6th grade parents reflected upon what drew them to choose Torit initially, the value of the Torit experience and their childrens’ preparedness to move on. Watch their excerpted powerful “testimonials” by clicking image above. Hear briefly how Torit’s unique grading system, balances a desire for the rigor of comparative grading with the Montessori philosophy.

Student Voices

Sixth grade graduates share the ways in which they wished to be remembered for their time at Torit and the lessons they would take from Torit into the future (click image above). Their speeches highlight the breadth of topics learned, the values imparted by Torit and the goals these students have for living their best lives. Torit’s focus on academic breadth builds both global perspective and unprecedented inter-disciplinary learning for the elementary ages. Torit also rises to the narrower challenge of standardized assessments.

A Graduate’s Voice

Some question how the Montessori method - emphasizing each individual student working to his/her best achievement at his/her own pace — translates to other environments. Montessori as an educational method has demonstrated excellence for well over 100 years so this transition has been tested numerous times by every profile of student. Hear one very recent Torit graduate discuss his first year out of Torit and how both the curriculum and philosophy played into his middle school experience and success.

[Our son] has been very successful transitioning to his new school and has really enjoyed his time there so far. The breadth of the education he received at Torit has been a huge reason for his preparedness academically. Thank you again.”

[My daughter’s] 7th grade teachers told us that she could teach the class they offered on organization and independence. I can only attribute that to Torit and to the training she got there on organizing herself for individualized learning.
