Opening Minds....Opening Doors

Welcome to Torit Montessori!

From the moment you are greeted at the door until the moment you say "maʿ al-salamah" or perhaps "adios," you will see and experience the Torit difference.  Torit offers a unique education beginning in infancy and continuing through Elementary School, with the Montessori values, methods, and curriculum as the guiding force behind all we do.

In keeping with Dr. Maria Montessori’s own globalism and commitment to peace education, we teach our students (future world citizens) courtesy, grace, and a spirit of community. We also teach them Arabic, Mandarin and Spanish as part of our exceptional curriculum, complimented by after school offerings designed to support families in the challenging and rewarding work of raising responsible, ethical, and motivated children. Torit Montessori can be your perfect partner in the weighty, uplifting journey of educating and raising children.

Our faculty members get to know each student as an individual, guiding him or her to develop mastery in a wide array of academic subject matter and in building the kind of work ethic which underlies 21st century skills every global citizen needs, ranging from social interconnectedness to entrepreneurship and independent initiative.

Come for a visit and experience the Torit difference.

Care, exploration and play are the top priorities for babies and toddlers. Every day there is something new to learn. Classrooms have all the comforts of home plus the stimulation of a classroom guided by staff as knowledgeable about development as they are caring.

Young children learn to work independently, realize they are part of a larger community and develop self-confidence, all while building foundational skills most relevant today.  Each child's day is filled with the joy of a new challenge and the familiarity of playing and learning together with peers.

Elementary students explore the world around them to discover their place in it, build on their skills, and practice contributing as a member of the Torit community.   All learning is hands-on and interdisciplinary.  In the Elementary years a Torit student begins to appreciate his or her power to impact the world, and the responsibility for learning that attends it.
