MISSION STATEMENT
At Torit Language Center Montessori, it is our mission to provide the tools to excel in the life’s work of our students’ own choosing. We believe the forging of these tools happens long before high school or college. Rather the tools of independence, creativity and interconnectedness must be as innate as walking and talking, necessitating their genesis simultaneously. To help us in the creation of the whole child, we subscribe to these broad ideals:
Acuity of observation of the child, facilitated by the Montessori method, allows development according to the child’s own pace and temperament. The Montessori method’s thoughtful and non-domineering guidance promotes innate independence and allows the expression of creativity of the individual that may be unwittingly suppressed by traditional teaching.
Interconnectedness with global fellow citizens, facilitated by the mastery of each other’s native means of expression (languages) and interest in each other’s referential backdrop (culture), will allow the broadest reach for each child’s self-chosen life’s work. Our short playgroup-format foreign language classes renew our optimism about our global future.
Independence, creativity and interconnectedness are facilitated by balance within the family. We serve children by serving their parents with numerous unique opportunities for busy or working parents.
